Kamen Rider (Masked Rider) is one of the longest running tokusatsu franchise in Japan. Originally created in the 70’s, the franchise has come to include over 15 series and millions of fans world wide. Many people like to think of Kamen Rider as the older sister franchise of Super Sentai, though they weren’t really connected until Kuuga aired. Spanning several forms of media including TV, movies, manga, books, CDs and others, Kamen Rider has become one of the icons of Japanese Sci-Fi history. It is also one of the few tokusatsu series to have official releases in America, in 2005 Kamen Rider V3 was brought to the US and in 2007, Kamen Rider the FIRST made its way over.
